Plasma Technology for Advanced Devices

Samsung Electronics announces that it is joining the semiconductor technology development partnership with IBM Chartered and Infineon Technologies. Initially, the four companies will focus on 65-nm technology and will extend, over time, to include 45-nm process development. The technology is geared to provide what the companies claim is an industry platform for CMOS logic processes. Joint development will take place at IBM's 300-mm Advanced Semiconductor Technology Center in East Fishkill. Source: Silicon Strategies

IBM licenses 90-nm CMOS logic technology to SAMSUNG for its system-on-chip (SOC) product lines, such as HD-TVs, DVDPs, and mobile applications. The logic process will also be available to Samsung's internal and external customers. Source: Silicon Strategies
